SUMMARY:Harvard Business School Club of Connecticut - AMERICA: UNDERWATER & SINKING - Chat with the Author
DESCRIPTION:Our politicians’ polls are at an all-time low. Most Americans are frustrated with Washington. The country’s biggest program\, Social Security\, is only nine years away from insolvency\, and two of the nation’s largest financial institutions\, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac\, are well into their second decade of conservatorships as wards of the state.  Based on his unique vantage point having managed four major government agencies Jim Lockhart (MBA ’74) offers solutions to solve some of our most pressing fiscal problems. \nJoin us on 11/14 at the Bruce Museum for an evening with Jim Lockhart\, senior fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center and co-chair of its Commission on Retirement Security and Personal Savings. Jim had a distinguished career in government and business and is the author of “America: Underwater and Sinking\, Time to Surface with Lessons Learned”  As an expert on Social Security and government finances (link to his biography)\, Jim will share ideas on ways to lessen its “huge fiscal burden\,” better manage the government\, and better serve the American people.  After Jim’s opening remarks\, he will take questions from alumni.  Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served.  Copies of Jim’s book will also be available at the event. \nThe fee for this event is $50 and pre-registration is required here.
